Presentation Of The Islamic Tijaniya Foundation Of America
(ITFA)

The Islamic Tijaniya Foundation of America is a non profit organization created in the spirit of helping the increasing Muslim community learns about Islam through the principles of the Tijaniya. Based in the Washington DC area, ITFA has chapters in many other states.

Our goal is to guide Muslims, and specially Africans, in the Sunna of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) and promote an Islam of peace. Within ITFA , African and American Muslims meet for spiritual enrichment. Every Friday, members gather to pray, learn about Islam, and discuss what can better their integration. ITFA also periodically organizes seminars and conferences where scholars share their thoughts and install in the community the values of tolerance and dialogue.

To achieve these goals, it is our most urgent ambition to build an Islamic center providing religious, educational, and cultural facilities for families. It will serve the purpose of:

• research center that promotes a peaceful Islam;
  
• cultural exchange forum where the community can benefit from legal counseling, entrepreneurship and business advice;
• worship place where Muslims can gather to perform their religious duties;
  education center and day care where we will teach the Kuran and instill family values, tolerance and healthy lifestyle to both adults and children.
  
• charitable network place to help Muslims in developing countries alleviate poverty and fulfill their most basic needs of nutrition and education.
